Whose Culture Is It, Anyway?
In whose culture is it any way it talked about how our culture still seems to be focused around the WASP idea. It talks about how our schools are choosing their curriculum based on this rather than what the students should be learning. I personally disagree.
I do not believe that these ideals exist as much as this article made it seem. I do believe that it is unfortunate that of these ideals still exist but I do not think that this still exists to this extent. Although I have grown up with all my life being like this I have never really gotten to see it any other way so I may not even know or realize that this was occurring. In which case how can we be called a melting pot if really were our cultures are not really blended together at all. To be honest I did not really understand this article that much I do not know if it is because I never realized America is like this of if I could just simply not understand it.
